Ava finally got to meet her other Grandparents (my dad and stepmom) and her cousins Christina, Samantha and Brian Jacob. Little miss Ava LOVED all the attention and it didn't take long for her to warm up to everyone.

A quick note: It's a little difficult to take pictures with so many kids going in all directions...but I managed to get a few from their extended weekend stay with us.
Everyone got in Thursday evening so we ordered pizza and hung out at the house. Mom and Dad offered to run out and pick up the pizza and came back with sour looks on their faces. The power steering had gone out on their van. Since their van was confined to the shop Friday we raised the very back set of seats in our pilot (first time we've ever used those), piled everyone in and headed to good ol' downtown Mobile so we could still be close when they called about the van. Not exactly what I would've wanted to show them, but we made do with visiting Fort Conde and grabbing some fresh squeezed lemonade at Three Georges (old fashioned candy shop and soda fountain).
Saturday we headed to Orange Beach, AL for the afternoon. Thank God they got their van back because we had so much junk to bring along. I think everyone was a little too busy for pictures though. Then we went out to dinner that evening, Ava really let loose and was probably the most animated we had seen her.
Ava didn't want to be out in the water because of the waves but she had so much fun sitting on the edge of the water and letting the waves rush over her legs. She thought it was absolutely hilarious when she could see a wave coming and then it would splash all over her.
Having a snack on the beach...
By the way, I think Ava was the only one who didn't get sunburned. I sure hope everyone else heals before Tuesday so they can make it to the Jacksonville, FL beach (their next stop from Mobile) and definitely before they make it to Universal Studios.
Playing with Brian Jacob (BJ)...
Playing with shells with Samantha...
