I'm getting bigger...At my last appointment I had gained two more pounds. Feels like a lot more than that but the doctor says everything looks great.
Here's what WebMD has to say about our baby this week:
Your developing baby now measures about 8.8 inches from crown to rump and weighs 1.5 pounds. Skin now becomes opaque instead of transparent. Its body is still covered with folds like a puppy dog that need to grow into its skin. Heartbeat can be heard through a stethoscope or, depending on the position of the baby, by others putting an ear against your belly.
We have still not been able to hear the baby's heartbeat with the prenatal listener at home and definitely not by sticking an ear to my belly. I checked online and several other women have this same problem with the prenatal listener, but at least I can play music for the baby and read to her with the other equipment that came with it.
Here's what's happening with mom-to-be this week:
Besides your uterus growing upward, it may be getting bigger on the sides of your abdomen. You may be experiencing constipation, indigestion and heartburn.
Yes, yes I do feel wider, but I must be eating well because I don't have any of those other symptoms...
