Stand In

We started thinking about how our dog Kaila would react to the baby and since she's prone to jealousy and hyperactivity, we decided to buy a baby doll that we can give attention to. I also bought a small thing of baby lotion to make the doll smell like a baby. So far so good. Kaila is curious and of course tries to lick the doll because it smells good. We'll probably have to work with her on that but other than that she doesn't seem to care. I have a feeling that will change a bit...maybe this way Kaila will start to understand she's not the baby anymore. May sound a little over the top, but our dog is part of the family and anyone who's been used to getting a lot of attention for the last five years would feel left out if things changed so drastically almost overnight.
