We spent Memorial Day at the beach (Dauphin Island) with the Pizzulo's. Ava wasn't too big on the waves, but once the water calmed down, after lunch, I couldn't get her out of the water. She wanted to pick up shells while sitting in the water. I brought a few of her treasures home with us to remember her first trip to the beach.
She had the best time with Payton and Taylor in the water hole the guys dug for the kids and only tried to eat sand once.

Oooh, fun at the beach, I'm jealous! We have to either buy a pool or drive farther to go to a beach now.
Kyle had his field trip to Taquemenon Falls on Tuesday and we stopped at Big Pines on the way back to play on the beach for about an hour. Now picture Detour State Park where we had the family reunion, now picture it with sand all the way out to the big island! No kidding, the beach just went forever, there were huge boulders uncovered that you never knew even existed. There was about 50 yards of beach that wasn't there last year. Then we went and checked out Sherman Park, our local beach, same thing. Sand forever. This beach is on the St. Mary's River, all the freighters that go through the Soo Locks go by us there, it's a neat sight. To be able to do that they have to dredge the river sometimes to keep it deep enough, well that shipping canal is now about 40 feet away from the sand now instead of about the usual 100 feet or so. The current is so fast out there that there is no way I'm letting the boys swim there. It used to be thigh deep water for about the first 100 feet or so then the drop off, now it's so close it's scary. But no, we don't sell the water from the Great Lakes...
