Eye Trouble - UPDATE: Completely healed overnight

Ava has a corneal adhesion - basically a paper cut or scratch on the cornea of her eye. We think it might've happened when she was holding a bag of the little crackers shaped like fish. Either a piece of cracker got in her eye and scratched it or the bag itself did it. The pediatrician says it'll have no effect on her vision and that these type of things, although very irritating, typically heal over night in children. We go back tomorrow to have it looked at again. Sounds simple right? WRONG! They had to hold my poor baby down with two people and drop numbing drops in the eye, followed by bright yellow glow in the dark drops. Then they had to turn out the lights (even more terrifying with strangers holding you down) and use a black light to look at her eye. Once they saw the adhesion they had to put antibiotic drops in her eye...and we have to do it all over again tomorrow.

The only way to keep the eye closed so it can heal is with a patch. Ava did surprisingly well with it and went to bed with no problem.

Oh my gosh, poor Miss Ava!
She doesn't look like she minds the patch, but it looks so miserable on her.
I hope there's no more episodes of having people hold her down, how awful. Give her big hugs from Aunt Katee and Uncle Rob!!
