So we went to the park across town...I have never seen such a poorly designed park before. We were all excited because there was supposed to be brand new playground equipment and Ava loves the ducks and gulls. We get there and the equipment looks great. We get up to it and everything is blazing hot. Even the astroturf was scorching hot! No shade what-so-ever.We found one toy that hadn't absorbed as much heat as the rest of the equipment. The rest of our time we spent under a tree chasing gulls, playing with pine cones and staying hydrated. We hadn't planned on staying long anyway because of the heat, but what a disappointment with the equipment.

Poor Park

That's just like the new Mid-town Playground. The equipment is great, but there is absolutely no shade there. No trees even planted for the future.
Have you tried Springhill park yet? It's on Old Shell near University. It has lots of trees around and some canopies overhead that help alot. The sun still creeps in a little, but it's somewhat shaded.
Knollwood Park is shaded too, but I think you already know about that one.
