Nine Month Check-up

Ava had her nine month check up today and she's doing great! Dr. Roberts is impressed with her motor skills and says that she is doing several things that an 11-13 month old would do (but I know all babies are different). Faye said to pay attention to whether Ava starts pointing though...By the end of the day she was already doing it so no worries there.

No shots today which was great news! Ava is 27.5" long and 17 pounds 12 ounces (she dropped just below the 50th percentile for weight but that's because she actually lost some weight when she was sick so much). Unfortunately, Ava is starting to show skin irritation on her face and was even scratching her skin all over so Dr. Roberts is again concerned about allergies. She'd like to wait until Ava is a year old to test her because babies can change so quickly, but for now recommends we continue to restrict the dog from her room and even from a lot of contact with her.

We've also just started Ava on a little formula in addition to breastmilk in the past two weeks (my body can't provide for three at this point) so we need to pay close attention to whether the formula is giving her trouble too. Whatever it is it's disrupting her sleep so little Ava now has to have a small dose of Benedryl every night before bed per Doctor's orders.
