Ava is five months old today. It's unbelievable how fast the time goes by. She's sitting up on her own for longer lengths of time, jabbers away, rolls to get around, hugs mommy and most recently started having stranger anxiety which means she seems to always want to be held by mommy.
Here are some milestone markers from babycenter. I asterisked the ones Ava can do:
Mastered Skills (most kids can do):
- can distinguish between bold colors*
- can roll over*
- amuses self by playing with hands and feet*
Emerging Skills (half of kids can do):
- Turns toward new sounds*
- recognizes own name*
Advanced Skills (a few kids can do):
- may sit momentarily without support* (more like a couple minutes)
- mouths objects* (everything)
- stranger anxiety may begin* (I wasn't aware this was a skill)
